Yesterday we met Jack. Jack is Quincey's neighbor who is having a ruff time right now.

We think he is very handsome. Look at his Bat ears! LOVE!

Jack's sister Midnight passed over the rainbow bridge this week.

So our humans thought a good romp with a couple of Airedales would lift his spirits. At least make him laugh!

We enjoyed our play date and hope to see him again.

The President and I love playing with other puppies.

Jack and I are a good fit.

Jack took alittle time to warm up to Daddy....apparently he is unsure of thin, grey hair men. But Daddy won him over!

We started something new this year!

Mom and Dad took notes this month about what we did all month. Mom feels like life is whizzing by and she is having trouble remembering everything.

So far I haven't missed a meal so it's all good if you ask me!

Mom is keeping a calendar, taking more pictures than normal, even journaling......so when she's in the nursing home.....she can say she had an AWESOME life! BOL!

Of course, she made a pretty scrapbook page.....DIGITALLY! She's very proud of herself.

Normally we all like to take nappies! Me, mom and Roman Spirit.

But it's going to be February and you know what that means.

Quincey and I know what to do! Move it, peeps...take the pups out for a walk for 30 minutes a day, get some fresh air, exercise and join the Idita walk!

Mom always says and I quote, 'walking with Violet helps make the winter go faster because we are not inside all day long".

So take it from us....join the fun and make the winter go faster ;)

I tried something different today. I scanned a few of my scrapbook pages and decided to show you.

(journaling reads - every night as we head off to bed. Matt tucks his hand in my back waist pant and says "his is how elephants do it")

I've been scrapping for about 8 years. Now that Violet is in the picture, I have ALOT more to scrap about and tell stories.
Many people think because we don't have kids, dot, dot dot....fill in the blank. (why scrapbook)

(journaling reads - MOOD! Matt gets in touch with his feminine side @ MOOD in NYC. He loves watching Project Runway. I watch his sports. He watches Project Runway for me! 10/15/11)

I sometimes felt that way. I scrap about all kinds of stuff and thought...who the heck is going to read this? I force my family to leave thru the pages at Christmas....this year I forgot to bring the books.

Another reason I put memories to paper.........In case I can't remember what a Freaking AWESOME life I have and have had!

I feel bad about who cleans out my house when I die. I don't want them to feel bad about throwing this stuff out! I've changed that thought to "who cares". I love the paper, stickers, and stamps and I'm using them with WILD abandon!

Because I have alittle bit of a creative side, I wanted to share. I already love to take pictures and this year I am determined to understand the elusive 'aperture' setting. God love the internet, I can take classes, read blogs, chat with people almost about anything.

Heck, Today I taught myself how to scan and stitch.....these pages are 12x12 and my scanner is not. So I learned something new today! YEY!

Our weekend continued to be fun.
Daddy opened up his Christmas present. A COIN COUNTER! He saves all his change during the year and at Christmas time Mom and Dad go out for a lovely dinner, including drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. They live it up!

Today is the Winter Classic Alumni hockey game in Philadelphia. Matt was a season ticket holder for 15 years, so he was so excited to see the 'old' players out there today. Especially his beloved Eric Lindross.

New Cocktail

Mom and Dad had a 'Lifetime Movie' kind of day. You know the kind.....a nice main street, sprinkling of snow, shopping, hand in hand holding.....la, la, la.....

Whatev'....... Obviously I was not with them.....

They had a new drink call Spiked Apple Cider.

Mom had one and was glad for lunch ;) Next time she'll have one at home.

Spiked Cider Cocktail Recipe - From Iron Hill Brewery
You'll need......
Apple Cider
Absolut Pears
Apple Pucker
Cinnamon simple Syrup ++
Granny Smith Apple

Directions
In a Collins Glass (tall skinny- just like me- haha) add 1 granny apple slice (we skipped this)
1 oz Cinnamon simple syrup
1 oz Absolut Pears
1/2 oz Apple Pucker
Fill glass with ice and top with Apple Cider, stir or shake and serve

Cinnamon simple syrup
2 cups water
4 cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 cups sugar
add cinnamon sticks to water and bring to a boil. After water comes to a boil immediately turn the burner off. Add sugar and still until sugar dissolves. Let mixture

Matt graduated from PSU circa 1982 - He has wonderful memories and stories of a young Matt. He likes to tell us what he did, where he studied, where he worked and of course where he celebrated his beloved football team.

Matt is distraught over the horrible happenings that recently were discovered. He is devastated for the all families and his beloved Joe Paterno.

It is a very sad time.

Last night a three foot dragon tried to storm my castle. Well, I wasn't having any of it. Daddy went outside to see this dragon and gave him candy.

Mommy put me outside.....I didn't mind that a bit! I could protect my turf out there too.

There was so much activity in the hood last night I calmed down and was allowed back inside.

I stood guard at the door and when a Star Wars guy, or an Army guy or a princess came to the door I trotted to Mom and Dad and they got off their tushes and went to the door. God forbid they miss a step of Dancing with the Stars....

I didn't bark at all. I actually enjoyed the company and tried to smell everyone. I LOVED when the kids said....Hi Violet!

NC sight seeing

While we were in North Carolina, we had to go in search of a state park. The closet one was 1 1/2 hours away. Now, you know I LOVE my state parks and here in Delaware we go to several different ones on the weekends. Only a 20-45 minute drive. So finding one in NC was a challenge and THIS one was near the inter coastal waterway. Hence the fun dock!

We liked hiking on the boardwalks.

They have HUGE Pine cones in NC. I know a doggie blogger who loves himself a good pinecone. Can you name who THAT is?

We saw our Airedale Club friends today and played musical paper plates.

When the music stops I have to sit on a paper plate. Not a problem....last time I played this I tried to eat the plate....everyone laughed.

This is me and Bella getting alot of loving. I won the round and won a water bottle dispenser. NICE!

Then we tried to pass the Good Canine Citizen test.

Dad and and I are studying the course.

ah fall days are beautiful for a good hike with my brother.

In this video you will see that I am a Diva....I DO NOT like my feet wet at all. I'd rather walk on rocks then get my tootsies damp.

By the way, I have a question for my airebuddies.

Last weekend I went to doggie day care for 3 days while my p's enjoyed their weekend at Penn State. My peeps noticed I was limping on Monday and quite frankly it's improved but I'm not better.

I limp for about 4-7 steps when I get up from a seated position. Then I'm fine, I run and hop and skip and jump. When mom squeezes my whole leg I don't wince, bite or cry. Hence I was able to see my brother today.

I'm not crated but I do alot of laying around all day. So my p's are not confining me, nor did they give me any medicine. Mom is becoming concerned because it's been a week, but she feels confident that it's just a sore muscle.

Do you guys have any suggestions to help me get better faster? Or do you have any thoughts on why I'm not getting back to myself. If I'm not better by the end of this week mom is taking me to see the doctor. I guess that's a threat - yikes

OMD! I forget to tell you a nice political story.

You know we live in Delaware but Mom and Dad are from Pennsylvania and keeps dibs on what happens there. The new Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Corbett and his wife adopted 2 Airedales. They've had Airedales before and love the breed.. DUH!

Wyatt, how come you live in Oregon and I never see you in the rain or drying off. Hmmmpfh....not so much in these parts lately. We've had lots of rain and flooding.

Today I'll be demonstrating how to dry off after a walkie. Use, your couch, your pillow or your human. There are so many choices!

Did I tell you I'm in my terrible two's? Apparently I am ;)
AND I have a new trick.

I like to sit down when I'm done. And I don't move until I'm ready. Here's an example, I am sitting down because I do not want to leave the farmer's market. By accident, we missed the organic dog treat venue and I'm not leaving until we get some.

Another example.......we don't have recent pictures of this but.......Dad and I went to Pet Smart and I was playing with a nice 6 month old St. Bernard, and then daddy said let's go.

I sat down - he pulled - I ducked and in an instant I was out of my collar and free as a bird! Daddy starting running after me. I ran and ran as fast as I could, not noticing the cars in the parking lot, or the highway....I was a blur in the wind.....like this....

And this.....Daddy ran, and ran, three of the Pet Smart employees ran too! I spotted a pond/water reservoir with lots of geese. I stopped to say hello to these geese and Daddy grabbed me.

Now, my humans say Greenpeace when I sit down and won't get up. I don't know why, but they don't like this new trick ;)

It's finally time for a good DRY walk. This is the extent of the damages in our neighborhood.

We are very lucky! This is a little bridge in our hood that has some debris over the bridge and into the street. That means the water was at least 10-12 feet high at some point!

This is the creek in the winter....see the stones with the snow on top....that's how the creek normally is...

First Dogs

Mom and Dad's first stop in the Newseum was to check out the "First Dogs" Exhibit.

I'm sure you're aware of this very famous dog.

Warren Harding was a true dog lover. He owned a Bulldog named "Oh Boy," and an Airedale Terrier named "Laddie Boy." "Laddie Boy" not only had his own hand-carved cabinet chair to oversee high-level meetings...... This picture reminds me of Wyatt's pictures and when he stands on stuff. Happy Birthday Wyatt!

He also invited all the neighborhood dogs to the White House for his birthday party, where they dined on dog biscuit birthday cake. I have to work on this and get me some good dog biscuit birthday cake in May.

He had his picture placed in silver frames. My picture is all over the internet.

Mom and Dad have been to Washington for the past 3 years and STILL haven't seen this.

To honor Harding's background as a newspaperman, more than 19,000 newsboys around the country each donated a penny for a memorial to the fallen president. The pennies were melted down and cast into a life-size sculpture of Laddie Boy by Boston-based sculptor, Bashka Paeff. While Paeff worked on the sculpture, Laddie Boy was required to complete 15 sittings. Today, the sculpture is part of the collection at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History (the artifact is not currently on display).

Just like when the newspaper boys shared their coins to support Laddie boy.

Daddy is keeping the tradition alive by voting for Laddie boy, with all his change, for the favorite First Dog!

Mom and Dad went to visit Washington DC again. Our great country has the best history and museums and stuff to do.

This is the top of the newest museum called.......The Newseum. It's all about how we get our news, changes in communication, how important freedom of speech is, Photography, history, and silly stuff.

This is mommy, nephew Daniel, niece Lisamarie and her bf Steve.

Mommy 'connected' with George Clooney @ Madame Trousseau's. He liked her!

Mommy is a wanna be health conscious person and likes to ride bikes. Here she's amazed at the middle of the lane bike lanes. You can rent a bike and take a tour of Washington. This is very helpful because you end up walkinging approximately 7000 miles in a weekend!

Ok, you really know that they were there for the Phillies vs Nationals game. I know you knew that. This is most of mommy's family minus a brother, sister and dad.

Hey everyone, did we tell you? We became farmers this year?

Apparently we are growing corn in our front yard! We have 2 little corn stalks! We assume it's because mommy throws any leftover pop corn and kernels in the yard for the birdies. Or we planted it by mistake????

Don't worry the Airedale is watching over this little stalk.

However we are beginner farmers because we don't know what this plant is? Can anyone identify it?

SPCA walk

A few weeks ago we participated in the SPCA walk.

Lots of doggies and humans were there to walk and raise money for the puppies stuck in the shelters. They need GOOD homes!

This guy wasn't going to let the shelter buddies down. He only has 3 legs and he walked the walk!

Mommy wants me to wear a cute tu tu. I'd rather not!

It's very very hot here in Delaware so we don't have any new pictures of me. AND I remembered....I forgot to tell you about the Zina the puppy pitbull. (Obviously this is before my spa treatment)

Zina was running loose in our neighborhood. Mom and Dad decided to put her in the backyard with me. LOVE IT! New friend!

Mommy called the person on the tag. Zina's daddy said, his girlfriend was watching Zina and could Mommy call his girlfriend.
After Mommy lifted her mouth off the ground....she called Zina's daddy's girlfriend. Are you with me?

The girlfriend said she left Zina in our neighbors backyard and Zina must have gotten out. DUH! Yea! and the girlfriend was at work............

So Mommy and Daddy said they would let Zina play with me until the neighbor came home and picked Zina up. The neighbor wasn't the daddy or the girlfriend.....are you still with me?

The neighbor picked up Zina 3 hours later. No biggie, we had plenty of food and water for Zina, and I'm a good at sharing. And boy did we have FUN!!!!!

The next day the neighbor asks mommy and daddy if we wanted to keep Zina. HUH????????? Poor Zina, she gets passed around but she's allowed to visit any time.

Zina whispered thank you to me and she had a great time hanging out! So did I !!!!!

So mom and dad went to see their beloved Philadelphia Phillies play the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Although we are home in Delaware today, we are basically doing the same thing today that we did on vacation. It's stinking hot today so we are sitting trying to stay cool.

At the Beach, Daddy's just relaxing on our front porch reading and enjoying the last of the sun.

Aunt Lauren gave me a beautiful bone and it was very tasty.

Earlier we visited with my ocean. We have a love - hate relationship.....;)

So, my birthday wish was to go to the beach. I am so happy!

Luckily, mom and dad already had a birthday beach vacation to North Carolina planned.

You know what? I am a VERY Good doggie passenger.....8-9 hour drive is a longgggggg time. But I didn't complain at ALL!
