So today is the last day of June and tomorrow will be 1/2 the year left. Wow time is flying @ jet speed! Today's pix comes from the keeper of the birds. Our Eastburn Owl has lived in North Carolina, Phoenixville PA and DE.  Oh the birds this owl has seen!  The morning sun on his keen eyes.

This is the view on my way to the house @ 5:30am. I've just begun to 'run' in the mornings and today was absolutely lovely. It reminded me of the shore - alittle cool, alittle windy - just missed the sea air.  This part of the road turns and our home is waiting for us.  I love that!  Makes me run alittle faster....sort of ;)

So today we took the coonies to the vet for the yearly review.  The new carrier was worth every penny. It was very easy thanks to Matt being able to scoop up the kitties. Gustov drools and Petunia hollers the whole ride. It's a long 7 miles. Gustov also gets the 3rd eye as his eyes roll into his head. I hate it - seeing him drool, pant, and whites of the eyes. I cry every time. There was a woman waiting for her doggie and she was crying too. Lord, thank you for not giving me human babies!  Gustov is still behind the couch recovering. Here's Chuckie trying to see what's going on. Petunia is fine.

Friendly reminder - 6 months from today is Christmas eve!
One of the things on the to do list during the staycation is to paint over a water mark on my bathroom ceiling. I knew if I didn't do it now it would be there until we moved....which will be a long time from now. ugh. So that's today's picture good ole Kilz!

Happy Birthday Shel!

Yesterday 6/22/09 was my younger sister's birthday - Happy Birthday Shelly. She is currently planning her wedding for 12/09/10. Lot's of time to make it perfect!
Here she is with her husband to be.

Because I am off this week on a
staycation.  Karen and I went to visit one of my friends in Lewes DE. Cindy has a lovely home, the backyard is absolutely heaven! We walked Lewes, saw the beaches and
had a lovely lunch. Then Karen and I continued home and stopped by Chesapeake Inn for dinner. I love that place!  We had a perfect day, great weather - anything that's not hot as heck is perfect weather to me, great conversation and lovely pictures. Thanks Karen of calling me and suggesting Lewes, thanks Cindy for being available!  xxoo

The Longest day!  Summer is finally here, luckily it's my kind of summer of far - cloudy 70-80 degrees yeah that's what I like. No AC, windows open! yeah baby!
So today was a big day for me. I am starting a running program called from couch to 5K. I'm not much of a runner but thought I would try to run a 5K by the end of the summer. After all I need some new tshirts!

6-20-09

Oh chores, Matt did them today as I made a cherry crumble for a visit tonight. He did the usual - Petsmart, Home Depot, Dry Cleaning, Acme etc.   This is what happens when he is alone @ Petsmart.  LARGE cat carrier -oh excuse me- dog carrier.  We have to take Petunia and Gustov to the vet on Thursday. He thought, and I agreed - since I don't have to wrestle with them, to get a large carrier. We think it will be easier to put them in the carrier while they fight, hiss, spit and let the fur fly.
Here they are carefully checking it out, treats always help!  Take note, Petunia saw it and ran - she's no dummy!

Nikki hit her head against during work this morning and really whaled herself. She had a good size red mark and iced it up immediately! haha  We were laughing so hard, we cried!!!

Sad news about Gary Papa from Channel 6. We've 'known' Gary for many years and he will be sorely missed on the news each night. Philadelphia area is having a bad year with Phillies not doing well at home, Harry the K dying and now Gary. How ironic Gary dying right before the Prostate CA walk/run on Sunday - Father's day? He will be missed.
Love your dad, husband, son this week. LOTS!

POD 6-18-09

We have to take the Coonies to the vets next week. So I picked up the meds to dope up Petunia and Gustov. There's no way to get them in a carrier with out slipping them some meds.  I understand where the saying 'fur flying' comes from now.
You see lots of doggies @ the vet. This little guy looked adorable in his new neck wear!

While there a man asked me for money. His cards were not working and he was low on gas. What would you do? Keep walking, give money, let him borrow your cell phone, run away, tell the vet's office?  What would you do?

POD 6/15/09

Chuckie, and his new FURMINATOR!
Ok, lets see if it can comb out some of his fur so he doesn't puke it up @ 3:00am!

Pix of day 6/14/09

Since it's the beginning of my 44th year, I thought I would join the picture of the day junkies.  So I started a day late....not surprising for me :)
Julie, Dad, MaryAnn @ Di's

Visits from far and wide

Dad and MaryAnn came home for the graduation party central. We met @ Di's for a nice cookout. Jim and Mary attended and it was really good to see them. The circle dinners are working out and are becoming enjoyable. Everyone has a story to tell.....like Di trying to mow the lawn, giving up and jumping in the pool. Oh it's good to be her!

Engagements all around

The Cahill household will be welcoming another brother and sister to the clan. Shelly and Dan, and Michael and Lindsey got engaged within a week of each other.
We celebrated @ the circle dinner this weekend.  Weddings on the beach, destination weddings and go ole backyard weddings were discussed. Can't wait to see what they come up with!

Congrats to all.
