8-18-09 to the dogs!
Matt requested animal food to be donated to the SPCA, for his 50th birthday. We took the donations to the SPCA tonight. Several family members participated in Matt's birthday wish. He was very happy to give all this good food to the doggies. The SPCA is FULL of Pitbulls...it's so sad. Spay and and Neuter! The cash was donated to Uncle Bill's Bucks Mont Katrina Relief Project, with Bank of America matching the amount. http://www.bucksmontkatrinaproject.org/
Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!

8-17-09 Dogs again
We love going to Petsmart...there are always dogs and owners shopping together...I LOVE that!
This human had her 3 girls with her.
8-16-09 Wheels B
I used to call Daniel "wheels" when he was younger. He always was on wheels, pushing wheels, talking about cars, trucks, flying high on his skateboard or bike. This is the cool car he can't drive for 3 more months. 'Wheels' is still going strong.
8-15-09 PARTY!
Matt's 50th Birthday party with friends and family @ Di's pool! Good times but he needed help blowing out the candles. 50 is rough!!!

8-10-09 Birthday week #1
I would like to introduce you to our $11.00 box.
Our family likes to help the local economy by eating out in the area. After a great dinner, we stepped into a cupcake place for Matt's Monday birthday cake.
We choose 2 delicious looking cupcakes, and the woman said 'if you buy 2 more cupcakes you get a box'. So now we have eaten our delectable cupcakes and have a lovely, colorful box to show for it!

8-9-09 Washington DC #3
The Arlington National Cemetary was a sight to see. We took the tour and it was a very well spent $7.50. Both of us were impressed with the changing of the guard. Those selected individuals train for a year before taking on the responsibilities of guarding the Tomb on the Unknown soldiers. 21 steps, 21 seconds and 21 more steps. over and over and over again. God love them because I would go nuts with the solemness and repetitiveness.
8-8-09 Washington DC #2
This is one of the most sad sights. This is the book @ the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, with the names of the deceased. This moved me more than the wall. Of course I didn't go near that wall - being an emotional warrior that I am, I needed some composure and hung out in the shade.
On a lighter note, the statues and the attention to detail were amazing. Look at the back of this young man's hand! Matt is a Vietnam historian and was happy to check out this memorial.
8-7-09 Washington DC
So I've known Shawn for about 10 years and I've only see him 3 days in all the time. His family was in from California and we met them in Washington DC for a Nationals game. Nats have a 7 game winning streak...good for them. Notice I'm still wearing my Phillies World Series Champions shirt....also notice Shawn in not a world champion...;)
8-6-09 Butterfly
We planted this butterfly bush last year and boy oh boy has it overtaken the garden. I don't mind too much because the heady scent floats into the window and into the den. Not many butterflies tho....?

8-4-09 Modern
Modern times, I don't use my ipod to it's most potential. Recently I've recorded podcasts and listen in the car. It fascinates me how much these little things hold. With just a cable it's all done - quick, easy and efficient. So neat!
8-3-09
I was @ Walmart the other day looking for a fan to take on vacation. I saw this and immediately remembered a green metal fan in my parents bedroom in Byrn Mawr. I would say 'ahhhhhhh' in the fan to hear the vibrations! Remember doing that? And the taste of the metal - even tho the mouth doesn't touch the fan. Ah, a sweet young Juljul memory.
8-2-09
No we didn't adopt another cat! Petunia would pack her bags and move out! Actually this is the neighbor's baby. She's very verbal and likes to come over for awhile and for some treats. The other 4 watche her every move.

8-1-09 YOM
So I've been saying it's the year of Matt. What Matt wants - Matt gets. He hasn't really taken advantage of that yet. So we rebooted and named August the Month of Matt - 14th is his 50th Bday. Today's excitement was car shopping and dinner @ his favorite place ever. Lamberti's. thank goodness the Lasagna was back to the original taste. And as always the drinky poos were very good! He's happy so far (day 1)
7-31-09 I don't care
I don't care what anyone says, you can't keep cats off the counter. Of course who could deny this beautiful boy anything?
