Summer goodies

I like summer, not love summer because I hate the sweltering, humidity and heat.  However,  luckily that hasn't happened yet, so Violet and I are in heaven.  It's warm and breezy and perfect for eating and playing outdoors. Matt LOVES the heat and humidity. He's in the backyard alone in August...haha

Summer has sprung alittle early and to the farmer's market we go.  This is out stash from Sunday.

Strawberries were so sweet and juicy. They'll be gone by tonight.

The cherries are so delectable I wished I had another pint.

Breakfast was outside on Sunday.  LOVE THAT!  The big Sunday breakfast including strawberries, fried eggs, bacon, scrapple and toast.  YUMMO!  These kinds of breakfast bring fond memories of Sunday's at Nana's after church.

I also made bread on Sunday.  I know crazy right?  'Artisan bread in 5 minutes' has a fairly simple recipe and the loaf turned out just lovely and tasty.  I mean it was nothing special but the crust was crunchy and the bread tasty yet alittle doughy - but it was my first try.  And anything with butter on it has to be good right?

What a great home down Sunday in Delaware.

  8. I am eying my strawberries daily and hoping they don't drown before they ripen. Apparently this was the warmest spring on record everywhere except the Pacific Northwest where I am.
