10/17/09

It's raining, it's pouring and there's a neighborhood kitty that's out in this weather. I can't sleep @ night thinking this pour orange girl is outside. The last two days have been soppy, and cold. So Matt and I made her some shelter, with toys and treats.
Of course we can't find her right now but I keep looking! She's the same kitty from the 080209 post.

Dinner with a friend @ a place I didn't think I would ever go into. I mean come on, EAT in huge letters? But alas, Borders Cafe is delicious and the cheapest date, according to Matt. He likes that!

10/10/09 Get that bird!

I wish I had sound with this pix. Gustov chirps and swipes the window trying to get the birds.

10/9/09

This little garden is on the way home from work on a corner. I love these long colorful flowers from the window of the car.

10/7/09 My cupboard

10-3-09 1 mile run

We're back to real life after our vacations. Let the picture of the day begin again!
This is Matt running the 1mile run up Main Street in Newark. Our registration benefits the Newark police dogs. Paco, Sjors.
Sjors did a wonderful demonstration. He's from the Netherlands, and understands Dutch and English. Don't mess with Sjors!!!!

8-18-09 to the dogs!

Matt requested animal food to be donated to the SPCA, for his 50th birthday. We took the donations to the SPCA tonight. Several family members participated in Matt's birthday wish. He was very happy to give all this good food to the doggies. The SPCA is FULL of Pitbulls...it's so sad. Spay and and Neuter! The cash was donated to Uncle Bill's Bucks Mont Katrina Relief Project, with Bank of America matching the amount. http://www.bucksmontkatrinaproject.org/
Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!

8-17-09 Dogs again

We love going to Petsmart...there are always dogs and owners shopping together...I LOVE that!
This human had her 3 girls with her.

8-16-09 Wheels B

I used to call Daniel "wheels" when he was younger. He always was on wheels, pushing wheels, talking about cars, trucks, flying high on his skateboard or bike. This is the cool car he can't drive for 3 more months. 'Wheels' is still going strong.

8-15-09 PARTY!

Matt's 50th Birthday party with friends and family @ Di's pool! Good times but he needed help blowing out the candles. 50 is rough!!!

8-14-09 Matt's 50th Bday

8-10-09 Birthday week #1

I would like to introduce you to our $11.00 box.
Our family likes to help the local economy by eating out in the area. After a great dinner, we stepped into a cupcake place for Matt's Monday birthday cake.
We choose 2 delicious looking cupcakes, and the woman said 'if you buy 2 more cupcakes you get a box'. So now we have eaten our delectable cupcakes and have a lovely, colorful box to show for it!

8-9-09 Washington DC #3

The Arlington National Cemetary was a sight to see. We took the tour and it was a very well spent $7.50. Both of us were impressed with the changing of the guard. Those selected individuals train for a year before taking on the responsibilities of guarding the Tomb on the Unknown soldiers. 21 steps, 21 seconds and 21 more steps. over and over and over again. God love them because I would go nuts with the solemness and repetitiveness.

8-8-09 Washington DC #2

This is one of the most sad sights. This is the book @ the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, with the names of the deceased. This moved me more than the wall. Of course I didn't go near that wall - being an emotional warrior that I am, I needed some composure and hung out in the shade.

On a lighter note, the statues and the attention to detail were amazing. Look at the back of this young man's hand! Matt is a Vietnam historian and was happy to check out this memorial.
